Ratings: ‘Hawaii Five-0’ drops, ties ‘Shark Tank’ for #1; ‘MacGyver’ steady
While the past few Fridays of the fall season proved to be rather exciting insofar as ratings go, this week we had a relatively quiet night with only a few small movers and shakers on the list.
The good news – Over on ABC, “Shark Tank” can celebrate a little bit of a recovery as the latest episode drew a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic, enough for the show to tie for #1 on the night. This is now the show that generates 2.0 ratings anymore, and the network has to be okay with that. We presume that they are, mostly because of how inexpensive this probably is to film beyond paying the Sharks, who in turn are also making money off of the businesses who appear on the show.
Given that Fridays are rough, we’ll give an honorable mention in here quickly to “MacGyver” for at least holding steady to the 1.1 rating it had previously. While not a great number, it also isn’t throwing the show into complete danger, either. The same goes for “Blue Bloods” (1.2) and “The Exorcist” (0.7), who both managed to maintain their most-recent ratings.
The bad news – For “Hawaii Five-0,” the show dropped slightly to a 1.2 rating. Still, that’s not terrible for it, especially in comparison to its ratings even for season 6. The biggest blunder of the night was “Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon” (0.6), a show that’s never going to get great ratings but tended to perform a little bit better than this when it aired last year. Over on ABC, “Last Man Standing” also sunk down to a 1.0 rating.
If there is one show from Friday night we’d recommend, it would be “Hawaii Five-0” for the sake of the drama that we got courtesy of McGarrett and Alicia Brown. Want to read up more on it? Then head over to the link here. (Photo: CBS.)
