‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 7, episode 5 preview: Adam’s released from prison!
We don’t want to beat around the bush when previewing the next “Hawaii Five-0” episode, mostly because we believe that there is one major reason why people are going to check it out: The return of Adam, and in a way that will excite quite a few people out there! He is finally getting out of prison, which for fans of him and Kono is a huge reason to be excited. We don’t know precisely what the future holds, but we’re excited to see this phase of their lives unfold.
Unfortunately, we cannot say that the entirety of this episode (entitled “Ke Kū ‘Ana” or “The Stand”) is going to be romantic, positive, or happy. Just remember that this isn’t a show that ever focuses on any one thing for an entire episode, but we will take whatever we can get since these characters deal with a lot of harsh situations.
Synopsis – “When a cache of guns is stolen from a gun range, Five-0 discovers the culprit is intent on making a dramatic and potentially deadly statement on gun violence. Also, Kono and Adam are finally reunited when he is released from prison.”
We have a feeling that the gun violence storyline here could be seen as overtly political (especially right now with the election), but we’re not sure that the show is necessarily keen on dividing its audience too harshly one way or the other. Our feeling, knowing its audience, is that it will tow that line carefully, and present a pretty artful discussion on this subject. It’s also an interesting venue for it given that this is a show that features plenty of gunfire on a regular basis, and lives are almost constantly in jeopardy.
If nothing else, this certainly feels like a change of pace after everything that McGarrett and Alicia went through this week with the Chess Piece Killer.
