‘Madam Secretary’ season 3 spoilers: ‘The NFL Today’ host James Brown to guest star
What is it about “Madam Secretary” that yields to random CBS personalities showing up for cross-promotion? Earlier this season, Jane Pauley made her latest appearance on the program, and we are also now hearing that you will be getting a chance to see none other than James Brown of “The NFL Today,” as well.
Brown will be appearing on the upcoming October 30 episode entitled “The Dissent Memo,” where he will be playing a role that should come very naturally to him: Himself. Granted, we’re not sure how you fit him into this story; maybe halfway through a scene Elizabeth and Henry McCord kick things offer to him for highlights of what’s going on with President Dalton? (Don’t begrudge us our meta NFL coverage jokes!)
Getting NFL-related personalities to appear on CBS shows is somewhat of a traditional at this point, given that we’ve also seen this with “Elementary” and “NCIS” over time.
As for what else is coming over the course of the episode, we’ve got a few teases.
1. Will Elizabeth and Dalton be able to handle some tension out in Angola? They will face harsh criticism over the lack of attention towards an upcoming election there.
2. Russell is going to get Elizabeth in order to help ensure Dalton gets on the ballot in Ohio. It’s crazy to think that this is an issue given that he is the incumbent, but that’s what is happening in this particular administration.
3. We are going to see Henry and Jose work together in order to uncover the location of some stolen antiquities.
Some of these stories will make more sense when we get closer to the episode airing. For now, you just have to remember that we are still a matter of many weeks away.
