‘Chicago Fire’ season 5 spoilers: Previewing Casey, Dawson’s (possible) marriage plans

Given that the season premiere of “Chicago Fire” is now slightly more than one day away, the timing definitely feels right to address one of the biggest questions that is out there: The relationship status of one Dawson and Casey. The couple recently invited Louie into their lives, and as they start to expand their family, they are inevitably going to want to show at the same time that they are ready to take the next step — meaning marriage.

There’s no guarantee of it happening, but executive producer Michael Brandt tells TVLine that there are definitely going to be conversations about it as we move through the early portion of this season:

“They’re both definitely interested. They’re also both definitely wary of it. We’re going to meet Dawson’s parents, and we’re going to see what their example of marriage is and how that has affected Dawson over the years. It’s going to have a profound effect on Casey and Dawson, too, as we get near the end of the first half of the season.”

Of course, we personally know that we’d love to see a wedding happen, especially since in some ways they’ve acted like a married couple before now. Yet, there are certain things that will need to fall into place for us to get them down the aisle, and they also have to decide that it is a priority. If the two are together and raising the family, then there may not be a need for them to spend the money on a wedding ceremony. In the end, we anticipate the two of them having similar discussions on the subject of this and their future to the ones that many people are having out there in the real world at present.
