‘Timeless’ episode 3 preview: Enter the realm of the Rat Pack

Timeless -Through the first two episodes, “Timeless” smartly chose to visit particularly notable times in American history, starting with the Hindenburg in the pilot and continuing onward to what we had tonight in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. While there were tragedies at the center of both eras, at the same time there was some fun and adventure present. Unfortunately for our leading lady Lucy, what happened in these episodes altered her life in a big way in the present. First, her sister Amy disappeared into oblivion, and following her return tonight, her romantic life had taken a rather enormous turn thanks to a new fiance.

Who knows what will be coming during next week’s installment? What we can tell you is that we’re moving towards an era known for bright lights and scandalous acts, and on the surface, it’s not entirely clear precisely what Garcia Flynn wants there.

Synopsis – “After landing in 1962 Las Vegas, Flynn (Goran Višnjic) has the team on the run with the era’s most infamous mistress. During the restless, neon-lit night, Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) meets his old mentor Anthony Bruhl (guest star Matt Frewer), whose motives may be darker than anyone suspected. Meanwhile, Lucy’s (Abigail Spencer) personal life is falling apart, Wyatt (Matt Lanter) attempts to change history for himself, and we discover Flynn intends to gamble with far more human life than we realized.”

Perhaps the most compelling personal tease in there revolves around Wyatt given a small moment in tonight’s episode, one where he realized that despite her wanting to bring back Amy, Lucy had no interest in going back in time in order to figure out a way to save Wyatt’s late wife. Could he try to make a move there in some capacity? We feel like he could eventually. As for Flynn wanting to cause more mass chaos, it’s hard to be surprised by that given the course of the story to date.

Promo – Well, let’s just say that an atomic bomb could be involved — that may have a certain thing to do with why Lucy is there.
