‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 4 spoilers: John Noble to return; Tom Mison on Ichabod’s new mission
The fourth season of “Sleepy Hollow” has to date been under a heavy lock and key for the most part, other than some castings and a few story reveals here and there. It’s hard to know what to expect out of the show’s future, mostly because so much has changed from its past. This is a show whose renewal for a season 4 was a surprise to many, and one that is going to have to move forward without Nicole Beharie in the cast. That will be no easy task.
Does the return of John Noble help to make the pain a little easier? That remains to be seen, but the character’s return was confirmed in a trailer at New York Comic-Con this weekend. (Unfortunately, Fox still is to release this to the public.)
What we do have for you is a quote from star Tom Mison to TVLine, as the actor makes it clear that there will be some common threads in season 4 to the ones that came before it, and that we should not expect to see Ichabod Crane change much without Abbie around, even if he does miss her:
“There are a lot of similarities. You don’t suddenly see him wallowing and pining and tearing his hair out and howling ‘Abbie!’ at the moon. Because that’s not really his manner. Lyndie [Greenwood] and I were talking earlier about [how] it makes Ichabod and Jenny are far more driven now, because… [it’s] for Abbie, rather than despite Abbie’s death.”
Ichabod and Jenny are going to be in Washington DC after spending the past few years in Sleepy Hollow; from here, they will have a chance to uncover many more supernatural secrets about the history of the country. This is what the show does best, but it’s on a different scale than ever before.
Are we nervous about the show without Abbie? It is hard not to be, but we do personally feel it is worthy of a chance. (Photo: Fox.)
