‘Supergirl’ season 2 videos: Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, David Harewood on stories ahead

Supergirl -

Ready for Monday night’s “Supergirl” premiere? The CW is doing something rather interesting in lieu of releasing some traditional sneak peeks — they’ve posted a number of video previews featuring many of the cast members talking about some of the individual stories ahead. Even though they’re on a new network, it doesn’t feel like the action is going to slow down much.

Mehcad Brooks – Let’s start with the man behind James Olsen, who talks about how in season 1, the character moved to National City in order to “find himself” after spending so much time in Metropolis. With Supergirl, he ended up finding so much more than he expected.

In addition to further exploration into that relationship, Brooks reminds us that in some comics Jimmy Olsen does get superpowers, which he’s certainly down for. As for some of the superhero names … well, they weren’t the best in the source material. He’s right on the money with that.

Chyler Leigh – In season 1, Alex and Kara learned a lot about each other, and also just how valuable they are to each other. They are essential to one another, and that is certainly going to stay true throughout the second season. There’s not too much in this one in terms of season 2 discussion, but you do get the sense that the Danvers sisters will remain on solid footing.

David Harewood – This video is particularly fun thanks to Harewood getting to offer up some insight on the new DEO building, which seems to be the subject of an almost-running joke about how everyone knew about it other than Kara. (Supergirl saying that a bat “bit her” at the last DEO facility underground is definitely worthy of a chuckle.)

Harewood also talks in this video about how in season 2, Hank is going to have to be more accustomed to people knowing he is the Martian Manhunter, and how that may not be particularly easy for him after spending so many years hiding in secret.
