‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4: Marvel TV head remains coy on possible ‘Daredevil’ – ‘Jessica Jones’ link
There have always been a few elements of “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” that are exciting, but there are also some that leave us wanting more; namely, the notion of this being a shared universe with much of the other Marvel properties, only to never end up getting to see a whole lot of them in action.
Will that ever change? When it comes to the big-budget movies, it feels unlikely given the sole fact that it would be extremely expensive to get one of those actors to come over here for a cameo unless they were really feeling generous and had a whole in the schedule. When it comes to some of the series airing on Netflix at present, that’s where things get even more interesting. While we know that ABC and Netflix are different platforms, they do have a good relationship and could be open to sharing. Also, given everything going on in New York City with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage, it makes sense that someone like Phil Coulson would take notice.
Of course, this is the sort of thing that Marvel is not going to tease out willy-nilly. As a matter of fact, they may not say a heck of a lot of anything. While at New York Comic-Con this weekend, the only message that that Marvel’s TV boss Jeph Loeb would hand down is “stay tuned,” noting that it is a fair question to wonder about the connectivity here.
We understand that you’re probably not going to get some sort of full-fledged crossover anytime soon; yet, even getting a brief cameo of someone like Charlie Cox for a minute or two could be worthwhile.
