‘Gotham’ season 3 spoilers: A slice of Edward Nygma scoop
Even when he is not onscreen, Edward Nygma remains a key component to what “Gotham” as a series is all about. Unfortunately, the character has spent a lot of time over the course of season 3 so far in this position. We’ve heard from him, but not on a level that has jaws on the floor.
Luckily, this will change over time, even though it may be somewhat of a slow build to get to a place where that happens. We’ve got a pair of Nygma-centric scoops for you, and they’re coming courtesy of some details Fox released recently for the upcoming October 24 episode entitled “Mad City: Follow the White Rabbit” (which of course is a Mad Hatter reference, and a sign that Jervis Tetch will still be making his presence felt at around this time).
1. The bromance continues – The partnership between the future Riddler and the Penguin will take a new step in the episode. Given that these two are certainly dynamic — and make each other worse, which is precisely what you want for your Gotham villains — it is easy to be psyched-up over this.
2. A surprise guest – A “familiar face” from Nygma’s past will find a way to come back in his life. There’s admittedly a part of us that wishes it was Kris Kringle back from the dead via Hugo Strange just because that’d be interesting (and she certainly would want revenge), but we gotta think that this is something we would’ve heard about by now if it was going down.
There is more story to come before we get to this point in “Gotham,” and more opportunities to see Nygma and Oswald Cobblepot working together, as well. For more on this subject, take a look at the preview for Monday’s new episode. Watch, and prepare for awesomeness ahead. (Photo: Fox.)
