‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: What Ryan Lawrie, Brooks Way, Saara Aalto, Emily Middlemas will sing
Ready for this weekend’s first “X Factor” performance show? Well, we want to be here to lend a helping hand ourselves? It’s as a result of this that we’re bringing to you the first confirmed song choices for some of the top 12, that way you can get a sense as to who is impressing you already, and who is being slightly annoying in choosing a song that you just don’t quite think will work for them.
Of course, note that these choices are subject to change — and it’s not entirely clear if we’re going to have a whole lot more of these choices before we get around to the show airing.
Emily Middlemas, “Toxic” – Smart choice. It’s a song that we’ve heard great acoustic versions of before (go look up Alex & Sierra from the American “X Factor”), and it is one that is almost immediately recognizable.
Ryan Lawrie, “Perfect” – The fact that Ryan, who looks like he could be a sibling of a One Direction member, is singing a One Direction song may be the most predictable thing in human history.
Saara Aalto, “Let It Go” – How much need we touch on the fact that Saara, who we have compared at times to a Disney princess, is singing a song from “Frozen”? Also, she apparently voiced Anna in the Finnish version of the movie.
Brooks Way, “Cake By the Ocean” – Hey, given the guys credit for being current. They need that, and they need to do more than show that they’re cheeky lads with some vocal talent.
