‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13, episode 3 reaction: Jessica Capshaw on Arizona’s new start
While it may not have been the main event for Thursday night’s new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy,” it certainly is still worth noting: Jessica Capshaw is back as Arizona! The character resurfaced after spending the first two episodes away in New York, and the symbolism here is rather clear: This is a woman trying to make the most on a new start, even if there is some pain now within her past.
This is a change that Capshaw herself seems to welcome, based on what she said in a TVLine postmortem for the latest episode:
“There were so many things that Arizona and Callie went through … For her to come on to the scene this season with anything less than a brand new fresh, exciting feeling, would’ve been [unfair].”
What could the future hold for her? There are many different things. For one, we never rule out opportunities for characters to reach some further achievements when it comes to medicine. With a good bit of the drama out of her life, there is a chance for Arizona to commit to work more so than she has to date.
Of course, there is also a reasonably good chance that Arizona has a new love interest at some point. Maybe it is possible that Sara Ramirez returns at some point, but that’s not exactly a sure thing. Therefore, you do want to take advantage of the opportunity that you have now to tell great stories, and if you have a good one for Arizona that has to do with romance, why not go ahead and make the move to go for it?
