‘Blindspot’ season 2, episode 5 preview: Could Ali die in violent mission?
“Blindspot” has a habit of cultivating great drama, and at the same time, they’ve also got a habit of creating episode titles that are almost impossible to say. In this case, we’re certainly seeing the latter in next week’s “Condone Untidiest Deaths.” We’ve made it very clear on CarterMatt at various points that we’re not the biggest fan in the world of mob stories, it’s at least worthy of a chance. Maybe it’s a little bit different when it is a mob story + an assassination plot + typical “Blindspot” fare.
Synopsis – “After a prominent politician is almost killed during a rally, Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and the team must work with U.S. Marshal Allie Knight (guest star Trieste Kelly Dunn) to take down a mob leader.”
NBC isn’t giving you a whole lot to go off of here other than the most basic plot elements. Our read on that, hopefully, is that there are great things coming they are trying to mask.
Promo – This is where things start to get a little more interesting. The promo tonight gave us a reminder of Weller’s future with Ali, only to then pose a warning that it could be taken away from him. The mob story is highlighted, but more than that it appears that she is shot while out on duty. Could she be saved? Well, that’s the clear question and the primary teaser going into this episode! For the time being, the only thing that we can add is that this is a show where people do get killed off — and on a regular basis.
