‘Criminal Minds’ season 12, episode 5 review: Can a pink fuzzy sweater bring Luke and Garcia closer?
Last time on “Criminal Minds” Spencer Reid had a rough go of things as he learned that not only did his mother have an episode where she ended up lost and confused in the city, but the clinical trial that has been said to be a cure for Alzheimer’s didn’t end up taking in his mom. As we all know Spencer though, he’s not willing to give up on finding a help for his mom.
Roxy has been the bridge between Garcia and Luke, because once she found out that Roxy is not only Luke’s love but also his dog, Garcia’s heart warmed up to him. We were never sure why she didn’t like Luke to begin with and suspected that they might’ve had some kind of romantic history, but it seems like it might be more of a “no one will replace my Morgan” factor going on.
Tonight though, she has decided to bridge the gap even further by bringing Luke a gift for Roxy – some organic, all natural dog biscuits and a pink fuzzy dog sweater. Garcia can see right away that Luke hates the sweater, but he turns it into a problem with the dog biscuits, saying that she is on an all raw food diet and that he loves the sweater. Anything to gain some ground with Garcia! Of course with more thought, Garcia realized that maybe a pink fuzzy sweater isn’t really what Roxy (or Luke) wants and decides to give him one last gift for her, but this time she gave him a really cool collar that he loved.
We aren’t getting too much into the crime of the week in this review this time because it was about bullying which is something that we have all been affected by in some way whether it’s towards us or someone we know and with so many of us being divided now that the elections are over, we would rather focus on pink fuzzy sweaters and people finding common ground with one another like Luke and Garcia. Episode grade: B
