‘Mr. Robot’ stars Rami Malek, Carly Chaikin respond to ‘Saturday Night Live’ spoof

SNL -This weekend “Saturday Night Live” of course went all-in discussing a number of pop-culture topics, with of course the Presidential Election being at the top of the list. We figure that from now until November, we’re going to see a lot of Donald Trump on the show. Maybe once that’s over one way or another that’ll dissipate.

We don’t want to spend our time here further fanning the flames for Trump sketches, though. Instead, we want to pour some further praise on one of the most surprising (and welcome) sketches of the night: The delightful “Mr. Robot” spoof that we’ve been wanting to see for the past year. Given that Pete Davidson is a dead ringer for show star Rami Malek, this only made sense.

What made it even funnier was that the show found a wonderful way to connect the USA show to one of the biggest off-season headlines revolving around the “SNL” cast: Personal photos of Leslie Jones being stolen by hackers and posted online. She had a tremendous sense of humor poking fun of the situation, and making it appear as though she is someone with no real knowledge of how the internet wins. This sketch was a win-win, and we’re honestly surprised it was so late in the show given how funny it was.

We’re also happy to report that two “Mr. Robot” cast members in particular loved that they were spoofed on the show in some way. Take a look at what Rami Malek (Elliot) and Carly Chaikin (Darlene) said about on Twitter below. You can also check out the video there if you haven’t already. For whatever reason this wasn’t added at the same time as the remainder of the other sketches from Margot Robbie’s show, but we’re very much happy to have it online now.
