‘The Walking Dead’ season 7 premiere getting extended ‘Talking Dead’ special
The seventh season of “The Walking Dead” will premiere on AMC a little bit later this month, but clearly the network is out to make this as major of an event as possible. How else do you possibly explain there being some sort of extended edition of “Talking Dead” airing after the fact?
Following the premiere episode on AMC October 23, be prepared for a 90-minute special that is going to be coming to you live from the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. It may seem like a rather-morbid place to have a show like this, but it is 1) fairly standard for this cemetery to do events like this and 2) it oddly seems to work with the show. Given that this is a special version of the show, it also makes sense that there would be a rather robust guest list. Apparently, joining Chris Hardwick for the extended aftershow will be (per ComicBook.com) Andrew Lincoln, Ross Marquand, Norman Reedus, Sonequa Martin-Green, Josh McDermitt, Michael Cudlitz, Chandler Riggs, Christian Serratos, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Executive producers Scott M. Gimple and Robert Kirkman are also going to be present, and this will mark the first interview with the person who is killed off by Negan in the opening minutes of the episode. This is something that was a hot topic all summer long, and we’re finally getting close to starting to have that answer. We just hope that it proves to be worthy of the wait, and this has not been a long wait for little substance.
What we find ourselves wondering at the moment is merely this: If another major character like the one Negan kills off leaves moving forward, will they get a similar sort of send-off?
