‘Outlander’ season 3 spoilers: Meet Laoghaire’s daughter

We’re jumping forward a substantial amount of time on “Outlander” season 3, and as a result of that, we’ve got the opportunity to meet a lot of new characters! After all, a lot can happen over the course of several decades.

Today, we’re looking in the direction of Laoghaire with the latest casting news. Sources confirm that Lauren Lyle, a relative newcomer to American television, has been cast to play the role of the character’s 18-year old daughter Marsali. She’s someone who is very much independent from the thoughts and viewpoints of her mother, and it feels safe to say that she is going to have an ever-increasing role in the series as time goes on. That’s at least the case with the character in the books, and while there are some changes here and there, we do think that the show wants to capture a similar spirit.

The third season is currently filming, and to date we know that the series has worked on recreating some key battles. Based on the third book in the Diana Gabaldon series, we could also see some scenes at sea and beyond. There’s a lot of fun, epic subject matter for the series to tackle, so we envision that the show has a very eventful few months ahead of it. Hopefully, this is going to be far from the end of the casting news Starz puts out there.

The third season should premiere at some point in 2017 and when we have an exact date, we will have it here at the site to share.
