In just one day’s time, the third season of “The Flash” is going to premiere, and as a result of that, we’re going to have a chance to see all sorts of excitement when it comes to Flashpoint. The paradox has brought Barry Allen to a different world where his parents are alive and he doesn’t have to be the savior of Central City anymore. Yet, at the same time there is an important question to ponder: Just how real is this?
In the sneak peek below, Barry is pressed on this individual subject by none other than Eobard Thawne, who he has trapped seemingly and is enjoying his captivity. While Barry thinks that he’s got this great victory, the Reverse Flash feels otherwise. He argues that time is really the worst enemy of both himself and of Barry, and that eventually, he will be begging him to go and kill Nora Allen once more. Sure, this feels like an oh-so-slight exaggeration, but at the same time we do think that it’s that crazy.
The issue that Barry seems to be unaware of in regards to Flashpoint comes down to the long-term ramifications of it. Specifically, he does not seem to realize how the longer he stays in this timeline, the more of his old timeline he is going to start to lose. This is extremely problematic for him, and it could pose a sense of urgency by the time this episode comes to a close.
No matter what happens, we assume that it’s going to be messy — not only that, but it will probably set the stage for some changes that arise once the paradox is over.
