The second season of “Quantico” delivered a visceral punch to the gut following the premiere courtesy of killing off the First Lady, but they made another big-and-bold move on Sunday night in choosing to reveal that Miranda was seemingly working against Alex in the future in the midst of the hostage situation. Is she a traitor, and does that mean that our heroine is short yet another ally? On the surface, it does seem that way, but we have certainly seem over the course of time that not everything on this show is as it seems.
In speaking potentially further on that subject, we present you with the following quote below via executive producer Josh Safran to Entertainment Weekly:
“In the first part of this season, especially in regards to the future storyline, certain people are set on one side or the other and everybody else is in play. The question is, those people in play, what side are they really on? You are meant to take from the end of this episode that Miranda is on the opposite side of Alex. The question becomes, how did we get from there to here for Miranda? We’re watching her in the Farm timeline and seeing that she is sort of trying to save the day, and here she is in the future, on the opposite side. We’ll see how that happens over the course of this season.”
We of course want to continue to hold out hope that there is more to Miranda’s story here, including that she is a double agent or that she is making some sort of play against her will. Given everything that she went through over season 1, our heart tells us that this is someone who does want to fight for the right thing and ensure that America is a little bit safer.
