With the fifth season of “Arrow” premiering on The CW Wednesday night, it only seems right that there would be questions. One of the biggest ones is the status of Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance on Earth-1 or otherwise. We’ve heard that there will be no direct resurrection of the character. Yet, at the same time Cassidy is now a regular across all of the different superhero shows on The CW, and we know she is appearing in both the premiere and also the 100th episode.
So what should we be looking forward to in the coming episodes? For a little bit more of that, we turn over to what executive producer Wendy Mericle had to say to TV Guide:
“I can tell you that we’re really excited about having her back. You will see in the episodes where she appears – Episode 510 definitely, our midseason premiere. Keep your eyes out for that. We’re so excited about getting to work with her again and her willingness to come back. It’s one of the fun parts of the show. People can leave and get killed and you can still find new and crazy ways for them to come back. I can definitely tell you that there’s a way we’re going to bring her back and she’s going to be alive and well. And Flashpoint might have a little bit to do with that.”
How can the show do this and not resurrect her at the same time? Maybe it comes out of taking her from the past and bringing her into the future, or maybe Flashpoint could change things so that she is never in the position to be killed. Either way, seeing her future unfold should prove fascinating over the coming episodes.
