‘The X Factor’ UK review: Did Matt Terry, Christian Burrows, or Niall Sexton make Nicole Scherzinger’s top 3?

Nicole -Tonight, “The X Factor” is wrapping up Judges Houses with Nicole Scherzinger, the remaining seven Boys, and Calvin Harris as a mentor. We do think that the guys this season have their work cut out for them, mostly because almost all of them blend together and there isn’t really any one person who stands out.

We’re going to be updating this article with more on the performances and eventually the results, so stay tuned!

Ryan Lawrie – This was cute, but it really wasn’t altogether memorable. Also, this song choice was a little hokey and his voice was shaky. We can’t see him moving forward after this.

Niall Sexton – Hey, he chose a really good old-school Spice Girls track! This was really nice what he did with it. While he’s got a challenge to becoming the most-famous Niall in the show’s history, this was a nice surprise.

Freddy Parker – Hey, if we’re criticizing Samantha Lavery’s style on the show, we don’t know if we dig this guy’s fashion choice here. It was a pretty good performance, and what we do really like about it is the sense of confidence it seemed to have.

Nate Simpson – SLAYED it. This is where we started to get some more confidence in the Boys category — in saying this, we’ve probably jinxed him since we’ve been wrong with who the judges should pick almost every step of the way.

James Hughes – We didn’t love the song choice, but then he messed up during it and couldn’t quite recover it. He got another shot, but it probably won’t matter too much.

Christian Burrows – Christian’s strength before this performance was his ability to emotionally connect, and then he goes ahead and takes on “How to Save a Life.” In between him and Nate, we really have two singers we feel great about.

Matt Terry – Pretty good performance, but we were a little distracted by how much mileage this guy is getting out of his breakup.

Results – Of course Christian was eliminated, since the person sent out first tends to be sent home. Eventually, she did deliver some good news to Freddy. Matt did get through, and Ryan is going on, as well. Basically, Matt was the only one we had in our top 3 alongside Christian and Nate.
