‘The X Factor UK’ review: Did James Wilson, Samantha Atkinson, Janet Grogan make Sharon Osbourne’s Overs?

Sharon -Tonight, “The X Factor” brought the fire for the second night of its Six-Chair Challenge event, and we also had some high hopes after the first night brought us some really good performances. Do we still hate this format? Absolutely, since it really emphasizes meanness and one contestant “beating” another.

We’ll be updating Sharon Osbourne’s likely choices on the Overs team over the course of this hour, so be sure to refresh the page! We’ll be creating another article a little later today about Louis Walsh and the groups. These six names are the people moving forward; we’re leaving out most of who didn’t go through, but we do feel for Anelisa.

Samantha Atkinson – Really amazing. She showed throughout this season that she is ready for the challenge, and knows how to bring it one performance after another.

James Wilson – The best part of this performance for us, outside of his imagination, was seeing Samantha continue to support him while sitting in one of the chairs. He does have nervousness issues, but he’s got one of the best voices this season.

Now, let’s pause for a minute to admire Sharon for not putting up with this Honey G experiment any longer. Sure, she could have made it to Judges’ Houses, but she was effectively a novelty act with no shot at winning.

Relley C – We honestly don’t remember her at all, but she got a pretty good reception from the crowd. Also, Sharon really loves her. It’s the anti-Honey G here!

Janet Grogan – Great song choice for Janet, who completely nailed this — though “One Last Time” as an “X Factor” performance to us will always belong to Lauren Murray.

Christopher Peyton – First things first, Peyton’s gotta get some help from the stylists. That jacket? Nah. His performance was very good, but we wish that we heard more of it!

Ivy Grace Paredes – Given that we know visa problems will prohibit Ivy from being able to make it to the next round, this one is particularly awkward. Yet, there’s no denying she deserved it after watching the power of her Whitney Houston cover — and we say that as someone who hates this song.
