‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 18 spoilers: A case could determine athlete’s future
Over the years with “Law & Order: SVU,” we have definitely seen plenty of examples in which the world of athletics gets mixed up within what the case files for the unit. Unfortunately, many cases have been ripped from the headlines, as we’ve seen several instances of fictional athletes on this show being accused of rape. Many of them have also been convicted.
On the flip side, we’ve seen a smaller degree of cases over time in which the athlete is the victim, and that is what you are going to see, per NBC, on the upcoming October 12 episode of the show entitled “Heightened Emotions.” There will be a potential Olympian who finds herself a victim of sexual assault, but to add to matters, she also carries with her an enormous secret: A secret double life. This could not only damage the case against the person who attacked her, but also jeopardize her future in the story.
Ultimately, it is fair to imagine that this is going to be a case that proves challenging for SVU to tackle.
Elsewhere in this episode, you’re going to have a chance to see Rollins try to meet up with her sister Kim (Lindsay Pulsipher) following her release from prison. She’s on parole, and this meeting could offer up a chance to see where the two stand, and if there is any hope for some sort of relationship moving forward. If nothing else, it’s a chance to further explore the Rollins character, and that is certainly something we’re all about right now.
