‘Pitch’ episode 3 preview: When relationships leave their mark
“Pitch” so far this season has made an impact; while the ratings were not necessarily enormous for the premiere, at the same time the ending certainly got a lot of people talking! We’re invested no in Ginny, her struggles, and her story, but we also know that the Padres aren’t exactly going to have a perfect run the remainder of this season. There are certainly going to be more struggles — here’s to hoping that they end up doing better than the Padres are in real life. (We say this as a fan of them, hoping that maybe the show can rub some magic off on them and vice-versa.)
The title for next week’s new episode is “Beanball,” which suggests that there are going to be some personal issues that arise four several different characters on the show:
“The Padres are hyped up to play the Cardinals, whose pitcher broke Tommy’s finger in an altercation, but Ginny is rattled when she spots her ex-boyfriend, Trevor, on the team. Meanwhile, Al calls on an old friend to help save his job.”
The only question that we wonder after looking at this is fairly simple: Aren’t most players fairly cognizant of who is on other teams? Maybe Trevor was a last-second addition or he came up from the Minors in time. Either way, this is an issue that many MLB players have yet to run into, so it could be something fairly interesting to explore through the lens of the show over time.
