‘Arrow’ season 5 spoilers: Susanna Thompson officially returning as Moira Queen for 100th episode

Arrow -

You can go ahead and cross this off of the list of things we were hoping to see in the 100th episode of “Arrow” this season: Susanna Thompson is officially returning as Moira Queen. Hope has turned into reality!

This news was officially confirmed by Entertainment Weekly, and it certainly sounds as though a Queen family reunion is imminent given that Jamey Sheridan is returning as Robert Queen in the episode, as well. Seeing Moira at this point is extremely notable in that season 2 is the last time we recall actually seeing Thompson onscreen as the character, who was far more of a power player in Star City than almost anyone ever gave her credit for.

What makes this appearance all the more curious is the news that Deathstroke is apparently going to return for some sort of role in this episode as well, even if it is not entirely clear if Manu Bennett (pictured above with Thompson, Willa Holland, and Stephen Amell) will actually do the same. All signs point to him presently being in New Zealand.

This episode of “Arrow” will air as a part of an epic four-way crossover featuring every other show within the CW – DC Comics world (or at least the ones executive-produced by Greg Berlanti). Earlier today, it was officially confirmed that the alien race otherwise known as the Dominators will serve as the central villains for this event, as the various heroes all come together in order to ensure that the world does not become a mining ground for these beings to meta-humans.

In general, we’re pretty darn thrilled right now that “Arrow” is really looking to pay tribute to its past for episode #100 — as for how they’re going to fit all of this in, that remains a really good question.
