‘Empire’ season 3, episode 2 video: Cookie comforts a distraught Andre

There’s a new episode of “Empire” airing on Fox come Wednesday night, and what we’ve got for you below is a little bit of a window into Andre’s soul. He’s a man who is haunted by what happened over the course of the premiere with Rhonda, and he of course is looking for anything resembling a shoulder or a source of comfort. Is he finding that courtesy of Cookie? Signs seem to be pointing that way.

The sneak peek below from tonight’s upcoming episode, one anchored by a really lovely performance from Taraji P. Henson as she works to comfort her son Andre during a time of what has to be tremendous grief for him. He’s obviously reeling in a tremendous way from what happened and is desperately seeking whatever sort of comfort that he can. In turn, she does what she can to be a source of that for him. This is emotional, and Cookie taps into her own life experience in an effort to further help him out.

Are we still worried about Andre in the long-term this season? Absolutely, mostly because he is the sort of person who has relied on faith to help him battle some of his demons to date. Now, he’s questioning that, and in losing Rhonda he is losing one of the few people with the purest of understandings of him. We’ll see how he is handling things tonight, and we’ll be back with not only a review, but a quick preview of everything that could be coming up moving forward.
