‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6 spoilers: Sean Maguire to return as Robin Hood — but how?
When Robin Hood was killed off on “Once Upon a Time” last season, it certainly felt like one of the biggest blows to fans that the show has done since the very beginning of the series. Here is someone who was beloved by the majority of the audience, taken out right when Regina was starting to understand what happiness felt like. He’s also the second true love to be taken from her.
The good news today, per Entertainment Weekly, is that there is more of Robin’s story to tell. The character is returning at some point during season 6! However, at the same exact time there’s no clear indication as to how we will be brought back — though it doesn’t look as though he will be resurrected in the way Captain Hook was. Here is what executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis had to say to the website:
“We’re thrilled to have Sean back for this story arc and are excited for the audience to see what we have planned, which in the wake of his character’s heartbreaking demise, is something we hope is unexpected and surprising.”
It’s possible that we see Robin via a series of flashbacks, or that this is maybe somehow tied to Morpheus and some of his abilities. Either way, maybe this will give us a little bit of additional closure. Unfortunately, this show is not “The Flash” and there is no Earth-2 version of the character running around somewhere alive who we can come to meet later.
New episodes of the series are going to air on Sunday nights in the coming weeks; be sure to head over here for a video preview of what is to come! Also, sign up over here to score some other TV news on everything we cover via our official CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: ABC.)
