‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: Candice Patton teases Barry – Iris ‘Flashpoint’ reunion

If you enjoy getting to see Barry Allen and Iris West together on “The Flash,” we come bearing what is certainly great news: This is something that will be a key component of the “Flashpoint” story in season 3, even if this new version of Iris is one with little to no familiarity with Barry at all.

There is a deep undercurrent of romance that goes throughout the superhero action of this series, and one of the messages that is paired with that is “Barry and Iris always find their way back to each other.” Judging from what Candice Patton recently had to say to TVLine, that appears to be more or less the case here:

“The best part of that was playing Barry and me meeting for the first time. It reminds me of the pilot. When you see them for the first time together, there’s something very magical about that, and we recreate that in Flashpoint. [Director] Kevin Smith was talking about it. He said he saw the first episode, and there was something really, really special about it. I would agree. I think fans are going to really enjoy that.”

When Barry does eventually make it back to his regular universe (we’ve already been told this is happening), it remains to be seen if he will have accidentally changed anything at all when it comes to his relationship with Iris. What we do know is that when season 2 ended, we left off in a position where he had some of the power to determine the future of the relationship. Hopefully, that is going to be the case once more and he will start to realize that there is no point backing away from someone when it is someone he cares about this much.
