‘Lethal Weapon’ episode 2 preview: A look at the craziness ahead
This past Wednesday, Fox premiered its updated version of “Lethal Weapon” and we’ll say that, by and large, the series got off to a pretty good start. There was a little bit of humor, a ton of action, and while understandably some excess language from the movies had to be cut for TV, we’d say by and large that this was a pretty fair adaptation. It didn’t necessarily deliver anything shocking, but we weren’t expecting it to, either.
So where do we go next? The preview below offers a good sense of the explosions and danger ahead for Riggs and Murtaugh, who are not going to be slowing things down at all following the events of the premiere / money that they cost the taxpayers of Los Angeles. The synopsis offers up a few more specifics regarding plot details, especially in terms of getting to see an appearance from pop star / “So You Think You Can Dance” judge Jason Derulo in a fairly significant role:
“Riggs and Murtaugh respond to a noise complaint at a party at heavyweight boxer Ronald Dawson’s (guest star Jason Derulo) Hollywood hills home. When gunshots go off, they are drawn into a major case involving illegal gun runners with advanced military technology. Riggs becomes personally invested in the case when he discovers one of their targets is a pregnant woman who reminds him of his deceased wife. Meanwhile, Trish worries about Murtaugh’s health, as partnering with Riggs tests his limits.”
Hopefully, the show will continue the mantra now of “if you like the movies, you’re probably going to like this.”
