‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6 spoilers: How Emma, Cinderella could go full-circle
The sixth season of “Once Upon a Time” is premiering on Sunday, and in some ways we’re going to see the story mirror the structure of season 1. After all, that season was about Emma Swan working to solve problems, and that is something that we could be seeing all over again now that the Land of Untold Stories is coming to Storybrooke, and there are a variety of new people who are going to be in need of saving.
However, could there also be someone from her own past who needs saving all over again? We know that Cinderella will be returning to the show in season 6, and there are going to be opportunities for us to meet more of the people in her life — including her Wicked Stepsisters. So what sort of dilemma will this lead to? Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Edward Kitsis had the following to say while setting up this story:
“That was Emma’s first happy ending she actually returned … That was the very first time that Emma, at the end of it, decided to stay in Storybrooke. She saw herself through Cinderella. Now we’re in a situation where what if someone could undo all the happiness you’ve done, would your life matter? [She’s] faced with somebody out there that’s trying to undo the ones [she has] done.”
Ultimately, we’ll see what comes out of this — personally, we’re still of the belief that we’d love to see more of Cinderella on the show for a longer period of time, given how she is a such a memorable part of Disney lore.
