‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 7, episode 2 preview: The vigilante case continues
On Friday night’s premiere episode of “Hawaii Five-0,” we had an opportunity to see the beginning of what looks to be an intense, twisty, and long-running case regarding a serial killer who is doing something at least relatively similar to Dexter Morgan. The big difference is that this person has made more of a spectacle out of it, and using chess pieces almost as a calling card. It’s intense, it’s interesting, and when you’ve got someone like McGarrett in a relatively vulnerable state thanks to his recovery from the transplant, receiving a chess piece from the killer in his home is chilling.
Next week’s new episode is entitled “No ke ali’i wahine a me ka ‘aina” (“For Queen and Country”), and the synopsis below gave us some further details as to what you can expect:
“Five-0 must work with rogue MI-6 agent Harry Langford (guest star Chris Vance) to find a terrorist planning to cause nuclear reactors across Europe to meltdown. Also, McGarrett and Danny ask retired FBI profiler Alicia Brown (guest star Claire Forlani) to help them find their serial killer vigilante.”
We’re excited to see Vance on board here following up his work on “Supergirl,” even if his storyline is separate in some way for what is going on with the vigilante. This is a story that could take a little while to unfold, and for the most part we presume that our enjoyment of it will be proportional in many ways to just how much time they spend really investigating the characters and expounding upon them.
