‘Chicago PD’ season 4 spoilers: Chaos and character stories

It’s funny that it was mere days ago we were talking with LaRoyce Hawkins about getting to learn more about Atwater this season on “Chicago PD,” and we’ve now got some further confirmation of precisely what that could entail.

If you look below, you can see the full synopsis for the upcoming October 12 episode entitled “Big Friends Big Enemies,” one that you can see a dangerous situation unfold as a result of a shocking incident at a concert. At some point in this episode, at the same time you’re also going to have a chance to see Atwater’s brother for the first time:

“When a car plows through a crowd of concert goers and gunfire erupts, Lindsay (Sophia Bush) and Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) are on the scene. Unsure of the motive and concerned a terrorist group may be responsible, Voight (Jason Beghe) orders in Homeland security, customs and the F.B.I. to assist. At the same time, Burgess (Marina Squerciati) spots Atwater’s (LaRoyce Hawkins) brother, Jordan (guest star Ahmad Nicholas Ferguson), out where he shouldn’t be. The team use their connections to throughout the city to bring some peace to the community before more blood is shed.”

While we’re not going to call it ripped-from-the-headlines per se, there is a certain element of this story that is reminiscent of the incident in France earlier this year. The difference in this case will obviously come out of seeing how these particular officers end up handling this crisis and ensuring the safety of everyone, including those who may be responsible for some of the simmering violence after the fact.
