‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: More news on Tom Felton’s arrival
There are many things that we’re curious about in terms of the third season of “The Flash,” but one of the most notable ones still remains: What is Tom Felton’s role in the story going to be this year? Given the caliber of the actor here, we have to assume that his character Julian Albert is significant in some way. Maybe he ends up becoming a supervillain, or maybe he eventually becomes some sort of ally for Barry Allen.
Either way, it appears that he will first rise to prominence on this season for the second episode if the season (airing on October 11) entitled “Paradox.” That title is no coincidence, given that the premiere is named “Flashpoint” and both are making key references to one of the most famous comic stories in the history of the medium. The synopsis below focuses in part on Julian’s arrival, but it’s not altogether liberal in giving things away:
“Barry (Grant Gustin) realizes the effects from Flashpoint are much greater than he thought. Meanwhile, Barry meets new co-worker Julian Albert (Tom Felton) and is surprised by Julian’s immediate disdain for Barry.”
Our prevailing theory right now that Julian is tied in some way to Doctor Alchemy, one of the season’s Big Bads … mostly because it makes some sense, given that Julian is already working within the world of CSIs and should have some knowledge of chemicals. What is a little more unclear for now is why in the world he would want to do anything to Barry, given that on paper the two don’t seem to have any tie to one another.
