‘Teen Wolf’ season 6 poster: The divide facing Dylan O’Brien’s Stiles
What is a fate worse than death? That is a question that “Teen Wolf” clearly wants you to think about as it enters its sixth and final season, in particular when it comes to the Ghost Riders. These are not characters from the Marvel universe, nor are they the ones presumably in “Ghost Riders in the Sky.” They are their own beings, and an extremely enigmatic group that operates with a specific motive in mind. They are also responsible for wiping Stiles off the face of the earth.
Being forgotten is the fate worse than death, and the promo art below via MTV seems to hint that this is looming for Stiles at some point during the early going this season. This is a really frightening idea, and we like that the show is going into this sort of mysterious direction rather than just the typical “scare everyone with monsters” tactic that they have done before.
The downside here is that as a result of this, Dylan O’Brien won’t be around for a chunk of the season. There are many reasons for this, with many of them being all over the internet at this point. From the standpoint of the show, at least they have been able to come up with a reason for this that makes some sense. What we’re curious about at present is just where Stiles goes when he does vanish off the face of the earth. Do the Ghost Riders bring him somewhere else, or is he in some sort of limbo? All are interesting questions, but it could be a little while before we find out for sure.
Specifically, the final season of “Teen Wolf” begins on MTV November 15. Stay tuned for more!
