‘Empire’ season 3 premiere: Is Anika or Rhonda dead?

While we’re going to be back later tonight with a full review for the “Empire” season 3 premiere, we did want to start things off right now with a reaction to the big cliffhanger from the end of season 2: The fight between Rhonda and Anika that led to the two of them careening off of the balcony.

We heard that it was possible that someone was going to die of these two during the premiere, so we’re here to answer one primary question: Did it happen? Well, judging from the opening minutes of the premiere, it looked like Rhonda was gone. Sad news indeed for Andre, especially given everything that he lost in terms of his unborn child, but it made some sense creatively. Given how many cookie jars Anika has her hand in, did you really think that Boo Boo Kitty would be gone from the show?

The thing is that we’re leaving this article open for changes later just in case this show manages to pull a shocker out if thin air — heck, we’ve seen weirder things happen on TV over time. for now, though, let’s say RIP to Rhonda, one of the show’s more interesting characters and one of the few grounding presences that Andre had over the years. If this is the course of his story moving forward this season, it should be interesting.

Oh, and did we mention we also had a birth in the opening minutes of the show? This was definitely crazy, but we didn’t expect anything less from this show!
