‘Bull’ episode 2 preview: Where will Michael Weatherly drama go from here?
Tonight marked the series premiere of “Bull,” and a chance to see how Michael Weatherly would fare on a series not named “NCIS.” For the most part, we’d say that it was an engaging premiere, even though it did have to spend a good percentage of its premiere having to set up the premise so that the upcoming episodes won’t have to.
Next week, the series is going to be able to expand its universe a little more than it could tonight, and give us a new case that will present its own fair share of hopefully-interesting twists and turns. The synopsis below may be small, but hopefully it offers up enough to have you interested:
“Dr. Bull and his Trial Analysis Corporation (TAC) team must formulate a new defense strategy when they discover the jury has a subconscious gender bias toward their client, a female pilot accused of negligence after one of her flights crashes.”
The biggest challenge for this series in the long-term is simply going to be trying to figure out a way for this show to continue to innovate and do different things every week. We’re going to have some more updates on this over the course of the season, and we’re excited to see how the writers rise to the occasion and take on that challenge. We certainly think that the show’s going to get huge ratings, so it will have every opportunity in the world and then some to figure that out.
