TV Quick Hits: ‘Supernatural’ season 12, ‘American Crime’ casting; Jenna Dewan-Tatum joins ‘No Tomorrow’
“Supernatural” season 12 has another new addition – As if Lucifer didn’t have enough on his late at the moment on the CW series, he will now also have to contend with Russell Lemmons.
According to TVLine, Kadeem Hardison has been cast in the role of a music-producer bigwig by that name who has clear intentions for a rock star named Vince Vincente — though it’s not altogether clear if Lemmons knows that this rocker (played by Rick Springfield) is actually a vessel for the infamous character. This should be fun just for the sake of seeing how “Supernatural” interprets the rock ‘n roll industry. Also, we have to assume that the Russell Lemmons name is meant to be a reference to Russell Simmons.
As for some other news on the day…
“American Crime” casting scoop – According to Variety, you are going to see Emmy winner Cherry Jones in a significant recurring role as the owner of a family-run agricultural operation. This season will be set in North Carolina, which could be a place where a variety of social issues could be explored. There aren’t too many plot specifics available as of yet.
Jenna Dewan-Tatum on “No Tomorrow” – While her future as Lucy Lane on “Supergirl” is unclear, E! News reports that the actress will appear on the upcoming CW dramedy “No Tomorrow” as Tuesday, a free-spirited woman who apparently has no problem with polyamorous relationships. She also may have a connection to our male lead / apocalypse-fearer Xavier (Joshua Sasse).
This series is set to premiere on The CW next month, and if you haven’t seen too much of it yet, check out one of the recent promos below.
