‘Supergirl’ season 2 video: Tyler Hoechlin flies as Superman in first promo

We assumed that sooner or later, we were going to get via The CW the first promo for “Supergirl” season 2. Now, we’re very much happy to have it below!

This preview does not necessarily give anything away that we did not know previously, but we almost don’t mind given that this is precisely what we were hoping to see: A preview specifically hyping up the appearance of Tyler Hoechlin as Superman in the episode. You can get a sense that almost everyone, even within the world of the show, is excited to have him and Supergirl working together in some capacity.

As for what could be bringing these characters together, early evidence suggests that it will have a thing or two to do with the presence of the President (Lynda Carter of “Wonder Woman” fame) and also a massive threat that will need these two in tandem in order to topple. Granted, they’re not going to be the only ones with the capability to help out, given that we also have the likes of the Marian Manhunter and others existing within this world. Sometimes, it does take a village! There are also people like Alex Danvers and Winn Schott out there who, despite not having powers, are capable of being game-changers.

One other thing that could be interesting to explore moving forward, especially since it is probably not getting enough attention at present, is the dynamic between James Olsen and Superman given their own history together. They may not have a lot of time to share scenes, so here’s to hoping they make the most of what they have.
