‘Saturday Night Live’: Hillary Clinton congratulates Kate McKinnon on Emmy win

SNL -Over the course of the Sunday night, “Saturday Night Live” star Kate McKinnon finally received a long-deserved Emmy for Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, and as a result of that she made an emotional acceptance speech where she thanks many people, including her father for getting her to watch the show in the first place so many years ago.

Also, she jokingly thanked during the speech Hillary Clinton, who she famously played on this show for the past couple of seasons.

If you look below on Twitter, you can see what Clinton had to say about McKinnon’s win. She also posted a brief little gif of Kate as the character. We do think that this was a worthy win, and we certainly imagine that we will see much more of her Clinton during season 42. Just remember for a minute that the Presidential election is (somehow) still going on, and odds are Lorne Michaels and the writers are going to want to make as big of a meal of this as humanly possible.

New episodes of “SNL” will be starting up in a matter of weeks. Strangely, we still do not knot the premiere host, but this is hopefully going to be something that changes as we get a little bit closer to it coming on the air. (In all honesty, we’d be shocked if we did not learn who the first host was over the course of the next seven or so days.
