‘Lost in Space’ remake casts first name in ‘Falling Skies’ alum
In case you had not heard the glorious news before now, Netflix is doing something that at this point can only be described as wonderful: They’re bringing back “Lost in Space.” The legendary series is getting an all-new treatment, and to go along with that, we have the first official casting news on it now!
According to a new report coming in right now via TVLine, “Falling Skies” actress Taylor Russell is going to play the new version of family daughter Judy. The Robinson clan is meant to start streaming on the service in 2018, and based on most initial reports, this series is going to be a combination of all things old and new. There will be notes that remind us very much of the original series, while at the same time a few things here and there that make this all the more appropriate for modern audiences. After all, there are certain advancements that can be played with now that simply were not around at the time in which the original series first came on the air.
For those of you out there looking for some “Lost in Space” trivia on this, here you go: Marta Kristen first played this role back on the classic TV series, while Heather Graham took it over for the movie remake in the early nineties. It’s crazy to think that so much time has even passed between now and when the remake came out, let alone the original series. We weren’t alive for it, so maybe we won’t have entirely the same sort of nostalgia as some other viewers out there will.
Nonetheless, we’re happy to have further casting news for you on this show the moment it is released.
