‘Ballers’ season 2, episode 9 preview: Spencer battles with the big bucks
While Spencer Strasmore was down on this past episode of “Ballers,” he quickly proved himself to be not out as he started to plan ahead to what could be his next attempt at making a master stroke: Buying Anderson Financial, and doing with it precisely what he could not do with it when working for someone else: Establish a brand that is exactly about what he wants, and one that acknowledges his value even if there are some things standing in the way.
What are some of those things? Well, the biggest one at the moment is him not being able to forge a relationship with the NFLPA, one that would enable him to actually perform his job to the best of his ability. So long as they continue to question his past mistakes, the more trouble he could have in starting over.
Luckily, some people are by his side to help complete the Anderson purchase, and it includes everyone from Joe to Ricky Jerret, who has offered up in particular a rather hefty sum of cash in order to start things on the right road. In the sneak peek for Sunday’s episode (which you can see here), one of the most-notable highlights you can see is a million bucks in a bag being delivered over to Anderson. Do you really see someone like Andre Allen doing that?
Maybe we’ll get a few answers as to precisely what is going to be going on in this episode, but the thing to remember is that there is still one more story left. As a result of that, we wouldn’t be surprised if we get some sort of cliffhanger tonight to set up the finale.
