‘Descendants 2’ spoilers: Check out updated look at new cast

The Disney Channel certainly has quite a bit to be excited about these days, especially when it comes to the original-movie department. The first “Descendants” proved to be an incredibly-lucrative property for them, and it has since spawned a number of other ways in which they can make money.

With that in mind, can you really be surprised that the network wanted a sequel? Given that fans likely felt the same way, you really shouldn’t be. The second movie is coming at some point in the new year, and the photo above gives you a quick look at some members of the cast: Dove Cameron as Maleficent’s daughter Mal, Booboo Stewart as the son of Jafar in Jay, Sofia Carson as the Evil Queen’s daughter Evie, Mitchell Hope as Belle / The Beast’s son Ben, and also Cameron Boyce as Cruelle de Vil’s son Calros. There will be appearances from some other Disney villain children included here at some point, but there aren’t a whole lot of official story details out there just yet.

Will there be a third movie beyond this one? We have to think so if the popularity holds. One of the other good things about this franchise potentially is that in the event certain actors wanted to move on, it does feel like you could rotate people in and out and continue to give this its own identity. That would certainly add a wide array of layers to the show coming up, mostly because there would be no way to know precisely what is going to be coming up.
