‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 18 spoilers: A tough courtroom battle for Barba ahead
Are the first few episodes of “Law & Order: SVU” this fall going to be particularly Barba-heavy? We are wondering that as a result of some of the latest information that we have at the moment.
For example, we know that the upcoming premiere airing on Wednesday is going to be a particularly big episode given that both Raul Esparza’s character and Benson (Mariska Hargitay) are going to have some very clear thoughts and opinions on a case. Moving forward to the upcoming third episode of the season entitled “Imposter” (airing on October 5), it also appears that this is going to be the case. We’re going to see Callie Thorne and Wallace Langham guest star, and they are going to have a pretty important role in a story that will test Barba in a pretty significant manner. Take a look, per SpoilerTV, at the attached synopsis:
“A man (Langham) tears a family apart when he uses a prominent fake identity to lure a vulnerable wife and mother into his bed. Barba (Raúl Esparza) argues that the evidence amounts to rape, but he’s faced with a powerful defense attorney (Thorne) and a skeptical judge (guest star Vincent Curatola) in court.”
Our hope is that by the end of this particular case, we’ll get a chance to see Barba get a win, but we know that this is far from guaranteed. At least at this point we know that he has the skills and then some to get the job done, and he has a particularly skilled team around him in the SVU who will do everything that they can in order to help the cause.
