Crime Dynamic Duos: ‘The X-Files’ (Mulder / Scully) vs. ‘Chicago PD’ (Lindsay / Halstead)

Duos -We’re into now the second half of the second round of our Crime Dynamic Duos series, and if you look at the eight pairs that are above, there are some common threads: People love characters with a little bit of a jaded history, and people also love couples. Of these eight pairs, four of them have been in romantic relationships together or are in them currently. Meanwhile, there are also two others in Walt / Vic and Rizzoli / Isles who have rabid ‘shipper audiences in their own right.

For the sake of this article, though, we’re going to keep the focus on two pairs who have loyal followings, and while the crimes they tackle may be different, they for the most part have the same motives: To uncover the truth and help those in need.

Mulder and Scully, “The X-Files” (1) – Sure, they may not investigate many ordinary crimes, but they certainly did not have any real issue getting to where they are now in our polls. They have a great history of working together, and while their relationship have have ended before the revival series began, you could still feel an essence of what made the two of them so great together. They certainly still get the job done, and part of the fun of watching them is how they often eventually get to the same result, even if they have very different ways of getting there.

Lindsay and Halstead, “Chicago PD” (4) – On the flip side, here we have two people who are immersed in a world that is much darker and grittier, but rely on each other in order to not only solve cases, but make each other better people. These two are entering the second round on the strength of one of the biggest blowouts of round 1; we though the vote would be close, but they ran away with it with more than 90% support on their side.

Now, we’re sending the vote over to you below! We’ll be revealing the results and moving onto round 3 on Monday, September 19.
