‘Crime Dynamic Duos: ‘Longmire’ (Walt / Vic) vs. ‘Rizzoli & Isles’ (Jane / Maura)
We’ve made it now to the final edition of our Crime Dynamic Duos series — or, we should say the final edition of round 2. The shows that remain are all worthy competitors, and it’s been fun to see the thousands of votes roll in for fans of various notable pairs.
Today, we’re really running the gamut given that in the case of one duo, we have crime-solvers who try to keep the piece in relatively sparse Wyoming. Meanwhile, for the other we have two people who work together (or worked together — insert tears here) to solve cases in one of the busiest cities in America in Boston.
Walt and Vic, “Longmire” (6) – For those of you who love upsets, this one is right up your alley! These two characters inspired enough passion to overtake Benson and Rollins from “Law & Order: SVU” in the first round and get where they are here. One of the reasons why they work, both in terms of for fans and for each other, is that they come at cases with different approaches and with different life experiences. They may not be opposites, but they have enough of a different viewpoint to be effective. Also, having chemistry certainly doesn’t hurt.
Jane and Maura, “Rizzoli & Isles” (2) – Couldn’t this be such a nice parting gift for the show? We would definitely understand that sentiment, since the two of them had such a journey and their relationship was one of the reasons this show shined so bright on TNT. They knew when to keep it fun and when to be there for each other, but also at the same time when to crack down and take down some terrible people.
