Lady Gaga reportedly in talks for Super Bowl LI Halftime Show
Super Bowl 50 earlier this year was a celebration of all things football, but to go along with it we also had one of the more memorable halftime shows in recent memory as Coldplay and Beyonce led the way for a star-studded performance that caused a lot of discussion across the internet.
So after that, who better to follow things up than Lady Gaga? Per Billboard, the “Born This Way” singer is in discussions with the NFL about taking part in the Super Bowl LI Halftime Show when it airs next year. However, nothing is confirmed, which is what the league confirmed in a statement of their own to Entertainment Weekly:
“We have had conversations with several fantastic artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, at this point we do not have a final decision. We’re happy there is so much excitement about the show.”
This news comes after Adele announced recently that she was offered an opportunity to perform at the halftime show, but declined it feeling that it was not her speed or the right venue for her work. Gaga may be polarizing, but she feels perfect for this gig given that she’s a born entertainer, she creates visual spectacles, and will probably find ways to get people talking. She’s also in the midst of a return to music with a new single out there in “Perfect Illusion.” Presumably, she is also going to have a role on the upcoming sixth season of “American Horror Story,” even if for now specifics on the role are shrouded in mystery.
