Crime Dynamic Duos: ‘Sherlock’ (Holmes / Watson), ‘Hawaii Five-0’ (Steve / Danny) kick off round 2
To all those who voted in the first round of our Crime Dynamic Duos tournament here at CarterMatt, thanks for taking part! There were thousands of votes cast, and we’re thrilled to be moving forward now to the second round of the competition where we imagine the showdowns are going to be even more competitive.
You can see the photo above for specifics on when each showdown will be taking place. We’ll be discussing one daily from now until Thursday, as well as opening up the polls. The next round begins on Monday, September 19, so check back then to see the winners as we move ahead to round three!
“Sherlock,” Holmes and Watson (1) – This was a fairly dominant victor for the Benedict Cumberbatch – Martin Freeman series in round one, but at the same time it is hard to say that this is much of a surprise given the strength of the storytelling and the performing with this series. What remains fascinating to us is that this series only airs roughly a few episodes a year, and yet viewers are committed enough to this particular relationship that they still feel like sharing the love in various polls.
“Hawaii Five-0,” Steve and Danny (4) – Meanwhile, you get the chance to see Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan play these parts on a far more regular basis, and their fans have plenty of passion of their own. These two are probably one of the best examples out there of a tradition crime-fighting duo on American TV. They’ve got a knack for getting the job done, but there’s also humor in their relationship and the show is okay with letting them have a little fun.
