‘Supergirl’ season 2 spoilers: New photos showcase Clark Kent, Lena Luthor, Cat Grant’s return

While we may not have much in the way of a trailer for “Supergirl” season 2 just yet, we do have something that could qualify to many as the next-best thing: Some new photos focusing on some key players on the show moving forward!

First things first, let’s start above with your first look at Tyler Hoechlin as Superman’s alter-ego Clark Kent, which shows very much that he can don a pair of glasses just as well as Kara Danvers. Also, he’s going for the checkered shirt / tie combo, which is a surprisingly effective look for him. While this doesn’t give too much away story-wise, it is a welcome bit of proof that the show is looking to give us a little bit of Superman’s work outside of the costume as much as they are in it.

Meanwhile, the images below provide us with a couple of other important details, whether it be the return of Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant (she will be making at least sporadic appearances, as she is no longer a regular) to seeing for the first time Katie McGrath (“Merlin”) as Lena Luthor, sister to famed super-villain Lex and a woman out to stake her own claim in the world. It’s not entirely clear just yet what her role on the show will be or what her allegiance is just yet, but these are certainly things to watch out for.

The “Supergirl” premiere is coming to The CW next month; hopefully, we’ll have some further news and a trailer for it in the near future.
