‘Major Crimes’ season 5, episode 12 video: Can Sharon handle her guilt?
On the first part of the “Major Crimes” three-part summer finale, we saw Sharon Raydor have to make one of her hardest decisions in law enforcement, shooting Dwight Darnell in the midst of courtroom chaos.
From one vantage point, this was a move that in Sharon’s mind had to be made, and you can also argue that killing someone who did terrible things is different than killing someone who was an upstanding member of society. Yet, Sharon is not Dexter Morgan; she feels things, and her code operates in a very different manner. She’s going to look for some spiritual counseling as a way to try and heal from what happened, but as we’ve come to see over the years, there is no guarantee of that working for her. One of the big problems Sharon is facing right now is mostly that the case is still unraveling, and she has to deal with it in real time. There could be great performances abounding in this episode, and also potentially another cliffhanger.
Of course, the investigation into the courthouse shooting is not going to be the only element of Monday’s episode — and the same goes for mourning the death of Taylor. You’re also going to see Buzz continuing his own investigation into his father’s death, which is hopefully going to come to a close by the end of the summer finale later this month.
