‘Halt and Catch Fire’ season 3, episode 5 video: The latest Donna / Cameron conflict

The third season of “Halt and Catch Fire” has to date focused on a wide array of professional conflict between the characters of Donna and Cameron, and based on the sneak peek below, that does not appear to be changing.

As a matter of fact, the main point of emphasis in this sneak peek seems to be the decision as to whether or not to authorize credit cards through Mutiny’s new SwapMeet business, given that this would be a particularly big boost to revenue. However, there are some major risks that come along with it, and that is why in particular you see Cameron so cagey in this preview. She’s well aware of the fact that credit card companies are going to want a piece of the piece, and they’ve already given away plenty of pieces since arriving in California. This is yet another move that could take away a stake, and at the same time there may not be a pressing need for this. After all, the company is already exploding in growth.

This is one of those scenes that is so great because you can see both sides. For Cameron, it makes some sense that she would be hesitant to go through with something like this given that she doesn’t want to mess with what is already a good thing; however, Donna is ready to bring things even further in the future.

Ultimately, we imagine that Donna will eventually win out, but it should be fun seeing how we get there.
