‘Aquarius’ season 3: Are there any renewal hopes at all?
Tonight, the final episodes of “Aquarius” season 2 are going to be coming on the air on NBC, and moving forward from here, there is one question that you should be asking: Is there any hope at all that there is more of the show coming?
At the moment, it feels pretty unlikely, and we assume that even some longtime fans would be aware that the show is facing a potentially dark future, even if they enjoy the quality of it all. Ever since the show was shelved on Saturday nights, it has averaged more or less a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and barely over a million viewers. Even if this show was airing on a cable network, we’re not sure that it would be able to have a future there, either. this is a ratings-driven business, and the show is not producing the numbers. Even in comparison the season 2 numbers to season 1, the show is down more than 30% in the demo.
Ultimately, the best thing that we’re hoping for tonight is a finale that offers up some conclusion; after all, we have to think that the writers saw some of the writing on the wall given that for some, the season 2 renewal was a surprise in the first place. We’re not sure that another network will be standing back to pick this up if and when the show is canceled.
Don’t get us wrong: We’d certainly like to have it back just to see where things could go from here! We never want to root for a show to end.
Tell us: Do you think that there should be a third season of “Aquarius” on NBC, or somewhere? Vote in the poll below, and head over here to get some other news on everything we cover via our official CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: NBC.)

A fine show, and I’m sad to see it end. But, the Manson family has committed their famous crime, Emma’s dad is dead, Hodiak has solved the serial killer case he was working on. It’s pretty much all wrapped up.

Season two pushed things a little to fast. But it ended with a crime scene being closed off by the cops. No arrests no end result. I thought the show was great, moving it to a Saturday time slot and showing to episodes a weekend was a bad decision they should have continued to run it on Thursday. If season 2 had wrapped up the entire case there would be no reason for a season 3. But there was no real conclusion, things just started to get amped up. They need to nake a 3rd season to conclude the investigation and story of this historical crime. Bring on season 3!

I think it can go for one more season. The finale left off at the perfect place to end if not it given the nature of the show but they can still make more if they wanted too.

It’s better than watching another crappy competition show….something NBC keeps pumping out over and over again.

Gotta agree anything’s better than the “reality” shows pumped out in such huge numbers this summer, but Aquarius has been hard to follow with its flashbacks and flash forwards and multiple characters.

Hasn’t been hard to follow at all IMO. If you know anything about the actual crime it is not confusing in the slightest.
